Who is Vincent Shay?

Vincent Shay is an award winning photographer & videographer from San Luis Obispo, California. He is a self-taught artist that started off his journey through a Nikon FA and the love of all life, abstract patterns and the ocean. Although having over thirty years of experience, Vincent is always willing to learn and adapt to the very quickly changing realm of Image Creation.

He focuses his photographic lens on the mainly ocean and his images have always been described by others as having a great sense of movement with a lively feel.

“I find it interesting that every moment of every minute of the day is just a series of still shots interwoven together to describe a life, an emotion and stories that sum up what it means to be alive. Even the smallest moments of each scene means something larger to the whole scope of living and I just enjoy finding those moments that can mean the most to not only me, but others. It’s my passion.”

Vincent has been involved with projects in many places around the world and his work has been highlighted in many publications such as:

  1. SUP the Mag

  2. Patagonia

  3. Canoe & Kayak Magazine

  4. Kayak Sessions

  5. DEEP Magazine

  6. ‘Killing Memories’ Documentary Film

“It has always been a dream to become a National Geographic Photographer. Who hasn’t had the same Dream? I truly believe that one day I will realize my dream to shoot for this incredible publication. One can dream, right? I think so!”
