Award-Winning photographer and videographer Vincent Shay is from San Luis Obispo, California. He is self-taught and enjoys taking shots that tell a story and his photos have always been described as having great movement and a lively feel to them.
“I find it interesting that every moment in every day is just a series of ,basically, ‘still shots’ interwoven together that convey the story of individuals and events. I just like finding those moments and if they move the viewer then great!
Vincent has worked all around the world shooting images and focuses his attention on Ocean, People, and Abstract scenes. His work has been highlighted in many publications such as:
He and his wife, Emily Shay, are owners of Avila Beach Paddlesports, a standup paddleboard and kayak rental, lesson and adventure touring company. They also founded The Pay-It-Forward Paddling Project that enables at risk and underprivileged youth to paddle at no cost to them.
"I am just so happy to pick up my camera not so much for the 'money' and to create a business...I just get to take shots of what I like. If others like the work and it moves them they just may take it home."
Vincent is also a ocean kayak and standup paddler, kayak designer, triathlete, and lifelong surfer and waterman.
